Thanks for the tips on graphics. I have a friend working on a better graphic for me now, got lots of thumbs down on the Big Boi hanko. Update, the skis are at the local shop. We stoneground them tonight and will be mounting bindings soon. I know I should have the graphic done first but I'm itchin to...

I'm no java developer but even though you've downloaded the latest version you might check to make sure your running it and not a previous version. Found these steps online somewhere: Open Control panel, switch to classic view, double click the java icon, in the General tab click the About button. V...

This is the graphic I want to print on the topsheet. Sort of like a Japanese hanko. Perhaps I can print it on ricepaper and apply it under the varnish?

Thanks skibuilders for the great info found in these forums-archives (I should have put that at the top ). I haven't posted muc...

Uh, I'm only on my first pair but for the ones I did last night I set it up so the knives cut the top of the core, not the base side. My reasoning was thus: 1. I had routed a goove to accommodate the edges on the base side prior to profiling. Profiling the base side would have removed that work. 2. ...

Montucky - roger that. falls - not sure. I searched "recess" or "VDS" + "recess" and found a post showing a nice jig you could set up. seems like you'd just tweak it with small adjustments and test on scraps till you get what you want. I think I'm going to pass on it th...

VDS & Edge Recess

Ok, I've searched a bit and found some posts about creating a recess or rabbet in the base side of the core to accept the edge tabs. What about the VDS? Seems like this extra material would contribute to concavity, right? You've already probably guessed that I've not pressed a ski yet. You'd be corr...
