I started putting a dab of hot glue at the ends to hold things to the sled. Seemed to work well

I'm going to pickup another filter for my extra shop vac and set two up to draw. I'm slowly running out of available amperage in my shop 8)

You could increase the hole count on a square area and just cover up the holes which are not covered by the shaped core. Our vacuum table extends over the whole working area of our CNC but some packing tape or some sort of plastic foil work well to cover the holes which are not covered by the workp...

I opted for the grid method instead of the box method. I was originally just going to skim MDF on both sides instead of doing the hole method. The hole method works well when my cores are square. But after they have been 2d profiled then sidewalled they become to awkward for the vacuum to hold. I ne...

From what I've been told, 70 days is about the average amount of days on a set of sticks, and about 70-100 days of hard riding most skis tend to lose their properties. I've noticed it with some of my older ones.

I'm ok with loud if it works! I can probably find quite a few locally without trying much. Right now I have a shop vac hooked up with a second shopvac hangin around. was thinking of giving it a try. The more I looked, the more I saw people using custom vacuum setups with much better success then any...

I "pre-flex" every set I send out to mitigate that.

I remember flexing some K2 park skis one time at the local shop and we heard a rather loud snap. I slowly placed them back...

Come to find out it's normal. Didn't know that at the time, and I didn't have the money to replace it then! :D

Thanks for all the useful information! Chris: I'll take a look into that too. so you suggest to look at the camber section of the ski in that area to see if there is some "high spots". Yea I would give it a look over. IT might be very small. Mine was and it didn't take much to smooth it o...

It's strange that your core lifts from the vacuum table. My table has three vacuum cleaner motors and a hole spacing of about 3cm whith 5mm diameter holes. I just place the core on the table cover all the open holes with foil or packing tape and it works like a charm. My cnc chews away at the core ...

I like your idea. my only concern with it is will it lay "Nuts Flat" on the spoil board? I guess the vac will pull it down tight. The modular end of your idea is right on and I like it a lot. I wish I thought of it. I like bee's knees. might have to try it. I was going to go with the roun...

I need to rework my vacuum table. There is a couple things I'd like to change to get better hold down. A vacuum table with a series of patterns shaped like a core is next on my list I have the same opinion. I did a 2" grid pattern and I'm not happy with it at all. my limiting factor is suction...

Chris how are you bonding your sidewall? Super secret sauce! But no, the same as everyone else. It wasn't a matter of the sidewall to the core (it pulled the entire core off the table, sidewall still attached). It was just a function of simply being lazy and not running a dab of hot glue where I sh...

I had that problem for a little while. I found the issue was not having a perfectly smooth camber profile. It didn't take much for the issue to telegraph into my skis. It wasn't a tough fix either. Just an afternoon with a sanding block and a level to use as a flat bar. I found it didn't effect perf...

You mogul guys, A 0.5" 4 flut carbide bit is where it's at. Currently using an upcut, but going to try a downcut. The only thing with an upcut is you need to MAKE SURE YOUR BOARD IS 100% SECURE. As in, the entire core has to be held down. Not just certain points. Had a couple pieces of sidewall...
