Re: Tip/tail Spacer Info

The materials section in this forum is a great place to start. Have you looked at the skilab store? www.skilabstore.com

Re: Section8-titanal

So, now that we're back up and running. My new skis are most satisfactory! Like I said in a previous post, they are about the stiffness of Volkl codes. Stif to med stiff. They grip the race course/ ice very well. The Titanal makes them super damp. The carbon gives them some pop at the end of the tur...

By the way vinman, cutting that stuff is very tough. I'm a former tin nocker so I have good snips. It just doesn't cut good, it splinters and chips. It's very weird stuff. Not ductile at all, breaks when bent

So did you get the kind of improved grip on firm snow or race course ice that you were looking for? I'm getting ready to do a beer league racer and would like some insight on using one layer or if I should use two, and you talked about shaving down your core to maybe 10 to accommodate the layers of ...

Believe it or not an entire millimeter anywhere on your core makes a lot of difference. I have taken big swings at core thickness before and wasn't happy with the result. That said, its expensive to experiment with these things so you have to decide how much is too much. In my experience going from ...

I have done this many times with no issues. You just use heatset ink available anywhere, do your screenprint directly on the veneer, and then dry it with a blowdrier. easy.
Epoxy will not smear it. Do your normal layup.

I use a router bridge, and had some probs with sidewall failure. It was always at the end when I had a failure. I tried everything, finally tried west system G-flex. Works every time. Kind of expensive but when you consider the amount of time involved with getting a core to that point, not so much. ...

Keeping things clean is a must at all times. I sometimes think that I spend more time doing cleanup than I do building.

I clean the base and tip spacer mat. et.al. with soft bristle brush attachment on my shopvac.
Works pretty well.
