WOW
Dude, I thought we were having a discussion about geometry not an argument. I was merely try to show you how I derive my geometry since you said I was wrong. I was actually excited we were having this discussion, I thought I could show someone my ideas for the geometry. If you shift the sidecut as I...

If you shift the sidecut as I suggest the center point also moves linearly as the arc does. It would have to... Because you are using SnoCAD, your curve shape is changing mine is not. I don't want to change the shape of the curve I just want to induce taper. When you move the arc, and the center alo...

Where the center of the sidecut is has nothing to do with taper. Sure it does.... My wife always says I don't explain things properly. They say a pic is worth a thousand words so here's my thousand... Hope this makes sense. When I realized this it allowed me to make my parts modular so I can build ...

Thanks for the reply... I am looking at running the large SC the length of the inserts and letting the others fall were they may. If the sidecut is shifted back it creates taper in the board so that is something I will be looking at doing in the future. As the geometry stands it will create a very s...

Progressive SC - Tri-radial geometry
Here is a question for you guy's that do the progressive sidecut or bi-radial and tri-radial shapes. One of my favorite boards for the Ice Coast is a Madd. It had a tri-radial design, not sure of the numbers for the 170 but the 158 had a 7/11/9 M ( so I've heard ). I am trying to picture the actual ...

Aluminum Bonding
Aluminum Bonding can be greatly enhanced by Phosphoric Acid Anodizing. Thats what Boeing uses to glue together planes. " PAA, phosphoric acid anodize is also Boeing's BAC5555 process. It is used for structural adhesive bonding, per ASTM-D3933, and substantially improves performance in high-humi...

B Kam, How are you laminating the Aluminum? Are you pre-etching or abrading the material right before laminating. Or maybe something else? How much glass and what weight did you use. On some of the Snowboards they use a light weight carbon uni and just the Titanal, essentially replacing the glass wi...

Thats what I was thinking... I turned a toolholder from 4140 prehardened material and it turned out nice but kinda slow machining. I only have a 7x14. I'm going to pick one up this weekend to get dimensions and see if I can make the rollers. Thanks for the leg work on this one Kelvin! :) :) Carvejunky

Chicagoskier11, If you have a CompUSA, or something like that I believe you could find Autocad Lt for about $800 - $900. There are also some freeware drafting programs : http://www.freecad.com/cgi-bin/dcd/html/CAD_Programs___General_Purpose/ I have a Madd snowboard that uses rubber in the tip and ta...

Plywood I can't wait to read the write-up on the heaters. I would like to incorporate heat into my next press, since I would like to build all the components myself I have been following this thread. Three cheers to your success... :D :D :D I am also extremely interested in the math, formula's and m...

I buy my router bits from them because the have a large selection in stock and I can also have them make anything I can dream up... Tubing caps
zachjowi,
I was at my local Lowe's store yesterday and they had the caps for 2x2 .125 wall in house. You might try a home depot also if you have either around were you live.
