^that's a real interesting approach.

i've found that my bases are no longer warping with any method of cutting. i think it has to do with the colder temps (about 20-30 degrees less).

i would just go with the 10" if you can. better to have more width than not.

here you go: http://www.wennstrom.se/New%20skis.htm

nice work, Lennart! super clean - the press, skis, everything. i'm curious about the "heat tape" you mentioned in one of your captions. what exactly is it and how does it work? also, what kind of fiberglass are you using?

davide, awesome setup. i especially like that saw! i'm thinking about making a vacuum setup as well. what are the specs on your vacuum pump? what kind of pressure are you exerting on the skis? are there any problems with the materials moving around while vacuumming out the air?

just curious, what's the reasoning behind a totally enclosed ski press? are you trying to hold in the excess epoxy?

greg, how exactly did you modify your heat blanket? i was digging around in one my closest last week and found an old heat blanket. i want to try your method since it fits into my non-existant ski building budget.

i think it may work. maybe try using a torque wrench to get all the nuts tightened down somewhat uniformly? how do you plan on pressing the tip and tail sections? i like the simplicity of the press.

hey tony, yeah i noticed that problem with the old version. but i didn't notice the problem when using the newest version. everything seemed to export fine into the .dxf file. but if you're still having problems, simply click on the sidecut once you've imported the file into your regular CAD program...

i recently checked the snowboardmaterials.com site and they put up a note saying that all orders will be delayed until after Christmas or New Years. can't remember the exact details but that's probably what's causing the delay.

maybe someone has some extra that they're willing to sell?

printing on fiberglass?

i remember someone mentioning of a fiberglass that could be directly printed on using a normal computer printer. but my endless search of the forum has turned up nothing. whoever that person was can you please post up some info about the fiberglass again? thanks!
