Look up Lightning boards on line. They build handmade solid ash skis. At one point they used to make their skis with lignostone edges, not sure if they still do. Not to put Montucky out but has anyone looked at using lifting slings as an alternative to codura sleeves. Lots of styles of slings out there with different webbing widths and sling diameter. Stitch and glue plywood boat construction uses thickened epoxy when filleting joints. Lots of info at bateau2 dot com. There are fairly high horsepower off-shore capable boats being built with this method. Seems similar to kevlar pulp.

You may have an issue with amine blush with your epoxy. Amine blush can prevent epoxies from hardening and will also impede bonding between epoxy coats and layers if the blush is not cleaned off.
