Thanks everyone. Yes, the VDS is yellow, I think they call it natural. The top of the mold is what I think people call puck board. It's hardboard with a smooth white finish on one side.

Someone asked about weight, they are 4.3 pounds each. They don't feel heavy to me but I'm used to heavy ski's.

That probably would be the smart thing to do.

I had this same problem, I was able to remove the tape but it left glue all over the base. I got some stuff called Oops that I found in the hardware store in the same isle as lacquer thinner and other solvents. It stinks like hell but it works great for removing the glue residue.
