Actually yes, My friend and I were thinking of a way to easily establish core dimensions using FEA. I think that's where it would be really helpful. You don't really need FEA for press frame. Yo, I used 2 x 6 and 2 x 4 (pine) for mine, the only thing is that I put brasses on the sides instead of at both ends...
