Sketching problems (dang it)

What's up? I'm designing skis on Solidworks out of a general sketch (twin tips) and I recently got back to doubting my sketches. I was ready to press (I built a press with my friend wich works since we press snowboards already) but I am rethinking my stuff one last time before making the core, the m...

Tony, that's what we gonna do.

We will make several laminates with constant core size to evaluate mechanical properties on different given length. the setup will be like what the guys at the university of Utah did.

Actually yes, My friend and I were thinking of a way to easily establish core dimensions using FEA. I think that's where it would be really helpful. You don't really need FEA for press frame. I posted the way I used to calculate press structure in an other part of the forum. http://www.skibuilders.c...

The only problem I see with FEA (I am studying in mecanical engineering) is that I didn't find a way to simulate epoxy.

Yo, I used 2 x 6 and 2 x 4 (pine) for mine, the only thing is that I put brasses on the sides instead of at both ends... Only problem is that it is a bit harder to load by the extremity (really not hard thought, and for the price I paid, I am a really happy man) On the other hand you go math crazy (...

Yeah I am interested in making a Bamboo Core.

Is there anyone who has the mecanical properties of Bamboo and if there is different kinds of Bamboo.

Thanks
