sorry, but it's been discussed in so many threads. The more repeated questions there are the harder it is to find the good info. I've been starting to wonder if a forum is the best technology for the info around here. I'm sort of wondering if it's time to set up a wiki for the regular howto type of...

At first reading I couldn't figure out why you would router the base of the ski. Are you doing something crazy like trying to go up hill on these? As I recall yes. There was a conversation a while back about adding fish scales like on cross country skis in an effort to make a touring ski with no ne...

I think many new forum visitors are overwhelmed by the growing number of threads and the sheer amount of things you need to learn in order to make your first pair of skis. I've been thinking about this for a while. Has anyone thought about starting a wiki with all of the obvious stuff so the forum ...

any insight on an LLC vs. a s-corp? My basic understanding is that a LLC is easier to operate, but that you pay more in taxes because of the self employment tax. Not sure which one would be best in this situation. For obvious reasons I don't have the time to answer this right now but I will come ba...

I'm actually an accountant who deals with a fair number of S-Corps. Head Monkey's post is dead on and he gave great advice. One thing that he doesn't mention but is probably pretty obvious is the fact that if you want to start selling skis and snowboards get yourself a good insurance policy. To be h...

uhhhh, vertically laminate it. Don't want to plane it down and use a single piece of flooring. At least I wouldn't think so. Planing off the finish is a good idea. Are you saying that it might be a good idea to cut the flooring into strips turn the strips 90 deg and re-assemble? Bamboo flooring is ...

Ok I'm building my bag my self (idiotic but hopefully cheap) out of house building foil. I need one of those plastic sealers! You might want to check out the article on custom vacuum bags from Joe Woodworker http://joewoodworker.com/veneering/makingbags.htm. TheWoodWhisperer.com did a video ...
