That beam is a little short for complete open span I think. You can put a midspan support and be sure. You can download beamboy or similar to calculate the deflection at the desired psi.

Look at this list and tell us which beam section you have first.

Another though I just had would you be able to bring the press temp to a lower first stage cure point. Hold there for a while to get the epoxy set. Then ramp up to the final temp. That way the resin will have kicked at a lower temp and should hold the materials at that dimension where the expansion ...

If this is happening only with that base material it must be a shrinkage thing too. What is the new base spec?

The veneer I used was from these guys.

It really is nice and when I said it curled it is not much but it would hard to manage it all at the same time with the base and holes for insert, topsheet etc etc.

If you try to lay up 4 layers of veneer and all the rest of the stuff at once good bloody luck! The maple veneer I had was hard to handle because of the natural curl. Doing the core press first is the way to go in this application. Not sure if it is the best way to anyway as the weight is up a bit f...

I layed up my veneer first with epoxy in the press. Then sanded a bit the transitions before treating it like a normal core. The 4 layers added up to exactly 7mm in my case which was perfect for a snowboard. I left the core as sidewall so using epoxy was a must.

I did a couple boards 4 layer maple skateboard veneer like this. Little sanding to smooth out the transition. Rode them now 10 times and all good.

Hi Jim It is for sure the carbon topsheets. The coefficient of expansion with temperature is much more with glass than carbon. So when the board cools the carbon top stays put and the bottom glass shrinks. I had a similar dded up doing a kiteboard with carbon....potato chip! Of course the hotter you...

Hey
Who is the builder in Quebec who does the topsheet graphic for you? I am in Kingston and it would be nice to use a local guy.

Cheers

Hey Doug Did you see the setup november was using in action? I am wondering what sheet he put between the bag and board and what else like plates or whatever. Also what rail shape did he put on for the bag to conform? On the new site I cannot see any details other than he says hybrid cap sidewall co...

Thanks bro.

Have you tried making a cap board without a top cassette with your HUGE bladder? Seems to me cap should be stronger in delam than the sidewall method.......
