oh and i think lib only made the mtx skis specifically because they had to in order to get a patent on it in the ski industry how well that patent holds up is yet to be seen i'm sure That is incorrect. Lib has been making skis for almost as long as they have been making snowboards. This is just the...

I would guess that you are prolly right. The reason being discussed at the time had something to do with the length of the fibers. I believe that most wood fibers are short whereas bamboo naturally grows with longer fibers. The board was built on a production shape so my comments were comparing the ...

I tested a full bamboo core snowboard for a week, quite a few years ago. We used full length bamboo strips in the core. The board rode real soft and smooth with an insanely consistent flex. There were no weight savings, and the cores cost more, so the idea was shelved. I would like to build another,...

Re: diminishing gains.
If you have your vacuum at 15 psi and then put it in a press at 35 psi, there will be 35 psi on your board.Bucky Mullet wrote: . Combining this with a pneumatic press, one can get away with running 35 psi and true pressure on the ski would be 49 psi. Thus one can use lighter I-beams in the press frame.

Lib invented magnetraction. Currently the following brands use magnetraction (non lib are all licensed from mervin): Roxy, Lib, Gnu, Rossignol, Smokin, and Burton! Salomon is producing some interesting boards with three straight lines for a sidecut. Burtons version looks like it might actually work ...

How can Armada patent the new arg? Is there really anything significantly different other than that there is sidecut and camber underfoot and reverse sidecut and reverse camber to the fore and aft? I have been thinking of building a board like this for a couple years. All of this patenting nonsense ...
