What interests me most is its reported durability qualities...I've heard good reviews about it being both very durable as well as shedding snow nicely.

Since the birth of Skibuilders.com, many Ideas have bounced around, and with these there have been creative new ideas and concepts to be tested and tried. There are some things that we now know to work well, as well as other ideas to stay away from. Could we somehow consolidate these universal truth...

bi-directional C.F. is easy to find, and I've been able to locate a woven double bias tape (biaxial), but a non-woven or stitched double bias (biaxial) tape I have not come across, and I've spent considerable time researching it and trying to locate some. Anyone have a link or source?

camhard, I too wanted to build with bamboo, as all the marketing hype had me convinced that it was the ideal material, being strong in both tension and compression (what is described as "poppiness"). I bought the highest grade bamboo that I could find from a respected supplier in the bambo...

"Sweet Spots"

What are your thoughts about what makes a large/small sweet spot? I want to build a BC powder specific ski with lots of energy but still have a forgiving/large "sweet spot". My Design has a long, gently curved tip to maximize ski floatation (tip radius is about 500mm) and rises almost 95mm...

carbon fiber

I agree that your core profile/thickness and materials is the most important. However, all the sources that I have seen say that carbon fiber is stong in tension, and worthless in compression. My own experimenting confirms this, and I have seen bow makers use it to back the bow (tension) and fibergl...
