COMMENTS:
Our design team just finished up our senior design project building some jib
focused skis at the U of U. Here are some pics of the finished products. We
incorporated some honeycomb into the tips and tails for reduced swing weight
and a steel plate underfoot for durability which can be seen in the following
picture taken during layup.

Also, one of the prototypes exhibits a diverted edge underfoot for reduced
friction when jibbing (shown below).

THE RIDE
We took the boards up to Snowbird (the only mountain still open in the
Wasatch) the end of last week. Both pairs were mounted 3cm back of chord
center. The diverted edge design were smooth as butter on the rails, but
lacked a bit in the edge grip department while carving the hardpack. In
softer, slushier snow they performed noticeably better
